Metropolitan Line Slab Track Upgrade (B2F VCM)

Work Completed

• Operated VCM in close coordination with DISAB excavator to remove ballast and extract sleepers
• Installed Delkor plates, cross members and shutters to precise tolerances
• Operated VCM to deliver and pour concrete to form slab track incorporating an integrated drainage channel, significantly improving water management and tunnel conditions while reducing future maintenance requirements

The works were planned over a two-year programme and were successfully delivered without any overruns. The team consistently achieved high productivity levels, installing approximately 10 m³ of slab track per shift

Operations were carried out during extended engineering hours Monday-Wednesday, requiring careful planning, sequencing, and coordination to maximise output within limited possession windows
